The Canadian Jewellery Group was originally established by a group of seven Northern Ontario jewellers who were interested in saving money through purchasing together.
Today, the CJG is Canada’s largest jewellery buying group with members across the country. Our growth is attributable to acquiring and retaining members because of our ability to provide a real competitive advantage. Retail members continue to make their own purchases and have product shipped directly to their stores, however, the paperwork and payment for these products is handled by the head office.
Unlike other buying groups in Canada and the U.S., the CJG negotiates terms and conditions with suppliers and then passes 100% of the advantages onto the individual members (most groups keep a portion of the discount and rebates). Membership growth, extensive automation at the head office and careful expense controls keep membership fees at an affordable level. The advantages of membership more than compensate for this cost. Each member owns a share in the company and has a say in how the Group operates.
All retail members of the Canadian Jewellery Group must pay their account with head office on time. Our success with the endorsed suppliers is due to them receiving their payments from us each month, on time. Many of our suppliers offer multi payments and terms for the retailer to take advantage of.

1. Buying Power
We offer off invoice and prompt payment discounts, as well as volume rebates that are negotiated annually with suppliers. All off invoice and prompt payment discounts received are given back to the members each month! Multi-pay terms are also available. You buy directly and get shipped directly, but the paperwork and payment is done through the CJG head office.
2. Centralized Billing
All invoices from suppliers are processed into consolidated statements to members – you write only one cheque for a multitude of suppliers. We do all the tracking of multipays, discounts and rebates for you! The only mandatory requirement on central pay is that you pay the office on time for the invoices you owe that month.
3. Volume Rebates
The CJG’s volume rebate programs apply to group purchases. As a result, the CJG consistently attains high volume rebates not available to the independent jeweller. Rebates are paid back to members on a pro-rate basis based on purchases from individual suppliers. As a result, you receive the highest rebate achievable. These rebates are paid by cheque at the Annual Meeting and Buying show in August of each year.
